MIDI 'Standard' or 'Paint-grade'

SMALL FORMAT SOLID DENSE CONCRETE BLOCKS

MIDI ‘Standard’ texture finish is for general background applications whereas 'Paint-grade' finish is available for internal fair-faced applications. It offers the same characteristics of a 140mm solid dense concrete blocks but at only 66% of the weight it gives you a lighter block with easier manual handling.

Our MIDI blocks are 140mm in width but are available with a shorter length of either 290mm or 300mm instead of the standard 440mm. This results in a significant reduction of handling weight of up to 33% a conventional 140mm solid dense block. Therefore, the MIDI offers you a 140mm solid dense concrete block with weights well below the recommended limit of 20kg for repetitive manual handling.

In common with all Dense Concrete blocks, MIDI blocks are a highly resilient and tough load-bearing block available in strengths of 7.3 N/mm² or greater, suitable for use above and below damp-proof course (DPC).

MIDI blocks are manufactured to BS EN 771-3 and are ISO 9001 Quality Assured, ISO 14001 Environmentally Certified and hold BES 6001 ‘Excellent’.

APPLICATIONS

  • Inner and Outer leaves of cavity walls over 3 storeys.
  • Internal partition walls.
  • Walls below damp-proof course (DPC).
  • Acoustic separating walls to Part E of the Building Regulations and Robust Details.
  • ‘Standard’ texture finish provides an excellent surface for mortars, renders and plasters.
  • ‘Paint-grade’ close-textured finish available for internal decorative, paint-grade applications.
  • BRE Green Guide A+ rated walls.

KEY ADVANTAGES

  • Same characteristics of a 140mm solid dense concrete block but 66% of the weight.
  • Easier manual handling.
  • Robust.
  • Accepts most standard fixings.
  • BES 6001 sustainability rating of ‘Excellent’.
